Here is a proper method to offer prayer on the night of Shab e Barat. After that there will be Shab e Barat Dua:

1. Recite 6 Rakaat Nafawil after Magrib

After Magrib, recite 6 Rakaat Nafl Prayer (2+2+2). Surah Yaseen should be read once after every two Rakaat. This particular prayer, with Allah Almighty’s grace, will provide you with a healthy and prosperous life for the entire year.

2. Read 12 rakaat nafl prayer, in each rakaat read:

Surah Fatiha (Alhamdo) : once
Surah Iklas: 10 times.

Afterward, read:

3rd Kalima : 10 times
4th Kalima : 10 times
Darood Sharif : 100 times

3. Read 8 rakaat nafl prayers with one salaam. In each rakaat read

Surah Fatiha: once
Surah Iklas : 11 times

According to Hazrat Fatima (May Allah be pleased with her), whoever observes this prayer on Shab-e-Baraat and presents its recompense (sawab) to my soul, I shall highly advocate his/her forgiveness to Allah Almighty before entering the heavens.

4. Read 100 rakaat nafl prayer reciting in each rakaat reciting :

Surah Fatiha : Once
Surah Iklas : 10 times
