Driving License Renewal: A Step-by-Step Guide 

You can book an appointment online with the traffic police. However, the online portal issues a limited number of appointments each day, and the other way to get it done is the walk-in token system.

Required Documents 

You must have the following documents with you before going to the Islamabad Traffic Police License Branch, Faizabad, Islamabad:

→ Original CNIC showing either a permanent or temporary Islamabad address along with one photocopy is required for the process.

→ Your expired driving license.

Steps

Simply follow these steps to quickly get your renewal done:

1. Go to the reception office adjacent to the parking area and obtain a token.
2. Wait for your turn.
3. Once your number is called, proceed to the relevant desk and present your CNIC + 1 copy + driving license.
4. The attendant will process your data all by themselves. You do not need to do anything.
5. He/she will punch your driving license and retain it. You will not get your driving license back.
6. The attendant will take biometrics of all your fingers.
7. He/she will take your picture.
8. Finally, the attendant will print out a form for you to check and confirm details. Once you confirm, he/she will take the form for further processing.
9. You will receive a slip with the date of receiving your new driving license.
10. On the given date, return to the same place and collect your driving license from the delivery counter. Remember to bring the slip with you.
11. All the fees are to be paid inside the center at the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) counter. 

Islamabad Driving License Renewal Fees 

The fees will vary depending on how late you are renewing your license. The earlier you renew your license, the less you will have to pay for it. Generally, the renewal fee will range from Rs.1,149 to Rs.4,649.

Note: 

• The driving license is issued for 5 years.
• All applicants visiting Police Khidmat Markaz F-6 or ITP HQs F-8, for any of the services, can either come as a walk-in through a queue matic token system or book an appointment.
• A limited number of appointments are offered each day. If you are unable to book an appointment, you can get services through a walk-in token system on a first come first serve basis.
• New Appointment Slots Open every day (Except Weekends and Public Holidays).
